A scope, not a quote alone
The written quote sets out what is included — crew, vehicle, packing level, dismantling, protection, storage if any — and what would change it. A price with no scope behind it is a number waiting to be revised.
A Kent company, the whole county
Whole households, family moves with a deadline, long-distance work in and out of the county, and European removals through the crossings on our own doorstep. Surveyed first, scoped in writing, and carried out by the crew who quoted it.
Surveyed before quoted · one crew throughout
What "done right" means here
Every removals firm says it is careful. The difference is what exists on paper before the day: the scope, the inventory, the access, the cover and the honest warnings. These six are what you should expect from us — and reasonable things to ask of anyone else you are considering.
The written quote sets out what is included — crew, vehicle, packing level, dismantling, protection, storage if any — and what would change it. A price with no scope behind it is a number waiting to be revised.
Goods are listed as they load rather than remembered afterwards. At delivery the list gets checked with you before the crew leaves, which is the only moment a discrepancy is easy to resolve.
Parking, stairs, lifts, lanes and turning space, established at survey and written down. Where a permit, a suspension or a shuttle is needed, it is arranged and priced in advance — never raised on the morning.
The crew who survey and pack are the crew who deliver, including on a long-distance job. Nothing is handed to a firm at the far end who has never seen your house or your list.
Goods-in-transit and public liability cover with the limits — including any per-item limit — written on the quote. Anything worth more than the limit gets flagged at survey so the right cover exists before the day.
If a piece will not come down a staircase, if a lane will not take a full-size vehicle, if a date is unrealistic — you hear that at survey. It costs us the occasional booking and saves everybody a bad day.
What we do
A whole house moved under one written scope — survey, inventory, packing where you want it, protected loading and a delivery you can check against a list.
What it involves →Moves with a fixed point in them: a school place, a job start, a tenancy that ends. The plan is built around the deadline rather than the convenience.
What it involves →Kent to anywhere in Britain and, far more often, Britain into Kent. One crew, one inventory, and a route written on the quote.
What it involves →Two people and a van for rooms, single items, saleroom lots and trade collections — the same handling standard at a smaller scale.
What it involves →Packing at whatever level suits the household, and inventoried storage for the interval between a sale completing and a purchase doing the same.
What it involves →France, Spain, Italy and Portugal, route-paired from Kent — export packing, the customs file, and delivery at the far end.
How a European move runs →Where we work
Eight parts of Kent, with the towns and villages we actually work in listed beneath each. If your village is not named, it is almost certainly still covered — ask, and we will tell you plainly rather than adding a page about it.
Maidstone · Bearsted · Harrietsham · Lenham
The county town and the villages along the Len and the Medway. Ragstone cottages with small openings, plus the suburban belt around the town which is the most straightforward stock in the county.
Rochester · Chatham · Gillingham · Rainham
Dense Victorian terrace on hills above the river. The access question is parking, every time, and it is settled before the day rather than on it.
Canterbury · Faversham · Sandwich · Deal
A walled city centre with restricted vehicle access, a market town with a narrow core, and coastal streets where the approach matters more than the house.
Ashford · Tenterden · Hythe · Romney Marsh
New estates and older terraces around Ashford, then the Marsh — flat, exposed, and further from everything than the map suggests.
Sevenoaks · Tonbridge · Edenbridge · Westerham
Larger period houses, gravel drives, heavy furniture and long-standing contents. The moves that most reward an honest volume at survey.
Dartford · Gravesend · Swanley · Northfleet
Closest to the M25 and to London, and where most of our inbound long-distance work lands. Estate housing, riverside flats and good access on the whole.
Cranbrook · Headcorn · Staplehurst · Biddenden
Timber-framed houses with uneven floors, and lanes where the vehicle decision is genuinely open. Shuttles are ordinary here, planned rather than discovered.
Wye · Charing · Chilham · Boughton
Village streets under the Downs with tight turns, occasional listed frontages and level crossings that arrive at the wrong moment.
A firm working one town every day knows it better than a county company can. If your move starts and finishes inside one of these, ring them first — we would rather say so than take the booking.
Several firms trade under Kent names, including kent-removalsltd.co.uk and kentremovals.uk. They are separate companies working the same county in different styles. If you were looking for one of them, that is where they are.
The European arm
Kent is where Britain crosses to Europe, which shortens the drive and changes nothing about the customs file. Four countries, route-paired from this county, with the export paperwork prepared here.
Paris, Normandy, the Loire and the south-west, out through the Kent crossings.
Madrid, Catalonia, the Costa Blanca and Andalucía, overland through France.
Milan, the lakes, Tuscany and Rome, by Alpine tunnel or the Ligurian coast.
Lisbon, Porto, the Silver Coast and the Algarve, across Iberia by road.
Worth knowing
The questions that come up on the first call, answered without hedging.
The scope: crew size, vehicle, packing level, what gets dismantled, what protection goes down, storage if any, and the cover limits. Plus what would change the price. A figure with none of that behind it is a number waiting to be revised on the day.
Every full household, yes — in person where we can and by video where that suits the property. Smaller jobs can be quoted from a clear description and photographs. Nothing is quoted from a room count alone.
Goods are listed as they load and the list is checked with you at delivery before the crew leaves. That last moment matters: a discrepancy raised then is easy to resolve, and a week later it is a claim.
The county: mid Kent and Maidstone, the Medway towns, east Kent and Canterbury, Ashford and the south, west Kent, north Kent, the Weald and the Downs villages. Towns with their own removals firms are named on the coverage page and we send local work to them.
The household goes into storage, inventoried as it is loaded, and comes out when you have keys. It is the normal shape of a Kent chain rather than an emergency, provided it is arranged before the day rather than during it.
Regularly, in both directions — and the busier direction is inbound, with London and Home Counties households moving out to Kent villages and market towns.
Yes. Several firms trade under Kent-based names, including kent-removalsltd.co.uk and kentremovals.uk, and they are separate companies. If you were looking for one of those, the coverage page links them.
A survey costs nothing and produces a written quote with the scope set out. Rooms, access and dates are enough to begin.
