About us

Scope first, price second

A removals quote is only as good as the scope behind it. This page sets out how we build one, who carries out the work, and the jobs we hand to somebody better equipped.

The company

A Kent removals company covering the county rather than a single town. Whole households, family moves with a deadline, long-distance work in both directions, part-loads and collections, packing at whatever level suits, storage when the dates fail to meet, and European moves through the crossings on our own doorstep.

There is no origin story on this page and no claim about how long anybody has been doing this. What is worth judging a firm on is what it writes down before the day.

Scope before price

Every full household is surveyed. The quote that follows sets out the crew, the vehicle, the packing level, what gets dismantled, what protection is laid, whether storage is involved, the cover limits, and what would change the price.

That is a document you can compare with somebody else's. A figure with nothing behind it is not.

One company throughout

The crew who survey and pack are the crew who deliver, including at the far end of a long-distance move. Nothing is handed to a firm at the destination who has never seen your house or your inventory — which removes the most common cause of long-distance disputes.

Work we refer on

House clearance, which requires a waste carrier licence we do not hold. Pianos, safes and fine art beyond ordinary crating, which want specialist equipment. Moves with both ends inside London, where permits and timed bays are a trade of their own. And purely local work in towns that have their own removals companies:

  • Tunbridge Wells — Victorian villas, the Pantiles, the common.
  • Folkestone — The Leas, the harbour, the Creative Quarter.
  • Whitstable — Fisherman's cottages and alleys no lorry enters.
  • Herne Bay — Seafront flats and the bungalow belt.

Companies with similar names

Several firms trade under Kent-based names. Two you may come across are kent-removalsltd.co.uk and kentremovals.uk. They are separate companies working the same county, and we would rather point you at them than have you assume we are all the same operation.

No prices on this site

Deliberately. A figure written before anyone has seen your volume, your access and your dates would be fiction, and fiction on a website becomes an argument in a hallway.

Ask any firm you are considering the same three questions: where will the vehicle stand, who is doing the wrapping, and what happens if the dates move. The answers are more informative than the numbers.

Ask for the scope. Compare those, not the figures.

A written scope tells you what you are buying. A price on its own tells you almost nothing.
